Ascension of Chaos-Chapter 166 - B2 | Intermission 1
At the base of Ashley's Spire
Erik Dristan walks with awe through the stalls surrounding the base of the Successor of Chaos's Spire. As he looks through each of the stalls to find numerous items and materials that are normally difficult to find in other sectors of the city.
At this point, word of the Queen of Destruction's district has spread to almost the entire city.
The district of the city that has the most freedom. That has the best resources. And has unlimited access to the Gates on a first come first serve basis.
But this is Erik's first time actually seeing the district himself in person. But despite having seen recordings and pictures of it, he's still surprised. Because the district really is just one large park, along with some of the surrounding city.
There are a few buildings that have been built around the Spire, but most of the are is just filled with stalls and tents set up by people living in the district. With a security force made up of undead stationed around the perimeter. One manned by Purgatory.
Erik feels anxious as he gets closer and closer to the entrance of the Spire down the biggest aisle of stalls in the area. The aisle directly in front of the entrance itself.
Both because of the guards from Purgatory and the Tower of Chaos stationed outside at the entrance, and because of the strange spots on the ground that he sees every now and then that are covered in glowing crimson cracks. Clearly implying that the Queen of Destruction occasionally looks down at the ground.
Which is no doubt why everyone at the base of the Spire has a barrier up and on their person. Just in case the Queen of Destruction looks down and happens to see them with her bare eyes.
And despite Erik's knowledge that the Queen of Destruction is most likely preparing for the Planetary Council Meeting that should be happening later in the day, he can't help but feel nervous about the possibility of her looking down at him from above. Which would no doubt kill him in seconds.
Once he makes it inside of the Spire though, he feels a lot more confident and less anxious. To the point that he begins walking confidently through the corridor into the largest marketplace he has ever seen. One filled with thousands upon thousands of stalls.
So many stalls that Erik can't even count them all.
What he can do, though, is find the stairs to the next floor. Of which there are three sets.
Erik begins to wander through the stalls a little bit while making sure to head towards one of the stairwells. And every item he finds in the marketplace catches his attention in some way.

From what he remembers of the Spire's structure, the first five floors of the Princess's Tower – as many people have named it on the System Forums – are public floors for Guilds and regular people unaffiliated with the Successor of Chaos to set up. With the Hunter's Guild currently being in the third floor.
Above the market places in the first two floors but not too high for the purpose of convenience.
Meanwhile the floors owned by Purgatory are the eleventh and twelfth floors of the Spire. With the thirteenth and fourteenth being for the Tower of Chaos, and the fifteenth floor being for a new arrival.
The Sil Gray Kingdom. One that isn't as prominent as the other two nations in alliance with the Queen of Destruction, but one that is still a Class S nation, nonetheless.
Erik continues moving through the stalls until he makes it to the stairs. After which he climbs them and looks around the second floor to find more stalls in another marketplace.
Albeit a larger marketplace than the first floor and with on average better and more expensive things being sold than the first floor and outdoors marketplaces.
A bright smile stretches across Erik's face as he immediately sets out to finding the item he cam here to look for. A type of healing potion meant for a specific illness. One that wasn't curable without the use of specific healing abilities before the System's Initialization came about.
And it doesn't take him long to find a potion that can be used to cure it. Lots of them in fact.
Oh… wow… that really is a lot of potions…
Now Erik finds himself unable to figure out just which potion to purchase. To the point that he spends an entire hour just searching for the best potion, only to eventually settle on the cheapest one that he believes should still cure his mother's illness.
He quickly makes the purchase before leaving the Spire and then heading in the direction of the district he and his family live in. Where his mother is still waiting for him and the potion.
But before he can make it out of the district, he finds a System Notification appearing in his vision. One that he isn't surprised about in the least. Meanwhile a bright crimson beacon shoots up into the sky from atop the Spire he just left.
The Planetary Council of the world known as Val will now commence!
All Lords and Ladies of the Spires on the planet will be summoned.
As neither a Spire Lord nor an advisor, you are not expected to attend. Therefore, during this time you and all other non-participating members of the planet Val shall be forbidden from entering any Spires.
Looks like it's finally beginning. Then they'll be competing in the Planetary System Event soon after this.
A part of him feels slightly nervous about the event that will determine the future success of their entire world, but most of him realizes how ridiculous it is to be nervous about it. freёnovelkiss.com
After all, their world has the Queen of Destruction herself participating.
And he can't see anyone ever defeating her in Class D.
