Chapter 1849 Enemy

Tang Shaoyang stood on the wall with Engin as the dwarf pointed at the camps across their territory. Hundreds of camps stretched out along with thousands of people, and they were not human, for sure. Their skin was red. They had horns, mostly a single and a pair of horns, but he could find the three-horned and the four-horned, which were less common. Their eyes were all black, and aside from that, they had a similar build to humans.

"They came a few months ago and demanded that I surrender to be their slaves!" Engin was gritting his teeth. Of course, he censored the vile words they threw at him.

"Do they tell you their faction?" Tang Shaoyang wanted to know if he was facing a renowned faction or if they were just a newcomer like him.

Engin furrowed his brow as he tried to recall his unpleasant memory, "Ah, they said they came from Black Hollow… Something like that."

Tang Shaoyang nodded after giving a quick scan of his potential enemy. The Engin led him to another border where another army camped. They did not even try to hide their camps, similar to Black Hollow.

The second fraction consisted of humans, and they were from The Kingdom of Qasoor. Then Engin led him to the third faction, and the last one was a little bit smarter than the previous two. They set up an outpost on the border and hid their army one km further from the outpost.

The third faction was The Kingdom of Natinle, and it was a mixed-race kingdom. He saw the elves, humans, and beastmen in their camp. They roughly had similar numbers, and he was surprised that the three factions did not fight each other.

There was a quiet distance from each camp, but they were not that far away from each other. They could close the distance within three to four hours. There was no way they would set up a camp without scouting the surroundings.

It meant the three factions were working together, and maybe they would split his territory evenly. He checked how the protection would last, less than three months.

His finger tapped on the stone, thinking, "Will the protection go away if we attack them first?" he muttered in a low voice.

He was confident to wipe out the three factions' army, giving them a surprise attack. However, he would lose his free protection, and his territory would be vulnerable. He only had seven days before leaving for another mission.

They could not split the main force because they had to focus on the Dimensional Tower. Most of them were trying to catch up with him, and he did not want to take the risk as well for them to fight a force in the God Realm.

That was the reason he did not want to lose the protection so early. He wanted to maximize the System's protection until it expired. However, he was worried that he might not have time to defend his territory later on. Especially with how far Engin had built this place.

Again, wiping out the three armies was not a solution either. What if another faction attacked and he was not home? That could end terribly. Tang Shaoyang opened the menu for his administrator team and sent a message to Ira, asking her if she knew the three factions that surrounded his territory.

"Finish the border wall for now and go back after you finish the wall."

The border was nearly completed, and it might only take Engin and his people less than two weeks to finish them all.

"But…" Engin was reluctant to leave this place, but Tang Shaoyang cut him off.

"I don't know if I have the time to go back and defend this place once the protection is over. We can't waste your effort in this place until we figure out a better solution, Engin."

Engin let out a sigh and nodded.

"You haven't told me why you built the castle? That's different from what I requested." Engin had not explained the reason behind the castle.

This time Engin smiled wryly, "We are getting carried away, Your Majesty. At first, we just wanted to build the mansion behind the castle, but my people found this stone and rare ore."

Engin pointed at the stone below them, "This stone is harder than most steel we find on Earth or the one we have from the first Dimensional Tower. This is the end result of the rare ore we found which is harder than the stone. There are more, less hard stones but more durable ones that we used to build the castle and the mansion. With the infinite resources, we get carried away and end up building a castle."

"And one more thing, it happened not long ago that we can move around the dungeon in our territory, Your Majesty. We created a building for the dungeon portal and moved them all there, and also…"

Engin showed Tang Shaoyang that he could open a menu for his territory. He could buy buildings, but those buildings were different from facilities. It did not have a hidden function, but a place for people to live. They could also buy a wall with Game Coins, but Engin refused to buy anything as he trusted his creation more than what was in the store.

"I think we should do our best to defend the territory, Your Majesty. We don't know what is hidden in this territory. Maybe we could find something better if we have more time than just building," Engin tried to persuade the emperor to keep the territory by all means. In his eyes, this territory was full of resources. Not just any resources, but something better than he had found so far.

"Speaking of metal…" Tang Shaoyang took equipment he got from the Void Creature. It was the armor of a big creature, ten times bigger than Engin, "Can you do something with this thing?"

Engin's eyes sparkled in excitement when he saw something he had never seen before. He placed his hand on the armor, and his excitement turned into a frown, then he was angry all of a sudden, "Which fool wasted such a good material to make something like this!?"

"I apologize for my language, Your Majesty. The material is high quality, but the smith is incompetent. We need to smelt it again and refine it further…" Engin's voice trailed off, "But we need a better fire than what we have to refine this material to its maximum potential."

"Our current Blacksmith Facility is level 6. It's quite good, but it's still not enough to refine this material to its potential. I think we can make it better if we have at least a level 8 Blacksmith Facility," As he said that, he glanced at Tang Shaoyang with his puppy eyes.

Tang Shaoyang shuddered as he was disgusted by it. Imagine that an old man with a thick beard and some wrinkles made puppy eyes. That was what happened with Tang Shaoyang.

"Stop it, Engin! It's disgusting," He waved his hand at the dwarf, "I will talk to Minister Li Shuang to upgrade your smithy to level 10 because we have more of them."

Engin's eyes gleamed when he heard that they had something more like the armor in front of him. After that, Engin led him to the dungeon room. The dwarves made a three-floor underground room.

The second and third floors were still empty, all portals were stored on the first floor. There were seven dungeons which were less than he thought. He thought they would have more than twenty by now.

"Supreme Commander Zhang Mengyao often led people to clear the dungeon with the dragons and Lady Lunea. But they stopped coming after the Dimensional Tower opened," Engin explained the lack of portals, and he was surprised that they could clear the portal without him.

Tang Shaoyang stayed longer, inspecting the mine and the other areas. Engin even marked an area and said that the dwarf wants to move here if they ever migrate to the God Realm. It was a mountain where they found the stone and the rare ore. They wanted to make the mountain their new home.

Tang Shaoyang did not promise Engin, but he would think about it. After making sure that everything was fine and safe, Tang Shaoyang returned. He did not know that he spent so much time with Engin as it was six in the morning by the time he returned.

Tang Shaoyang did his usual routine when he was home. Having breakfast together with his daughters before sending her daughters to their school.

Cao Jingyi and Kang Xue took their role seriously as they started to build a normal school, a proper one with grades and so on. There was still a dilemma about university because most students in their teens wanted to join the Tarrior or the Adventurer Guild instead of pursuing their education just like before.

Tang Shaoyang got dizzy when he thought about the ideal solution for that. He did not even finish his school, so he did not even know what a university looked like.

He dropped Jiaying and Li Yue at their school and sent little Xiulan to the playground. Of course, Lilliana was with Xiulan, and after saying goodbye to his daughter, Tang Shaoyang planned to head to the Dimensional Tower.
