Chapter 135: Chapter 130 Entering the City

Humming~

On the cargo railway tracks of Yu Bei City, a heavy train slowly set off, followed by a procession of trucks and off-road vehicles, majestically heading towards Airport Number One in Yu Bei City.

Passing through a valley, the main urban area appeared in everyone’s sight. With nightfall approaching, the entire Yu Bei City lay in complete silence beneath a gray-black veil, looking heavy and desolate.

Yu Bei City, as the starting city for Airport Number One, was the largest industrial and cargo port city in the southwest before Apocalypse Day, boasting a highly developed urban scale and heralded as the pearl of Tianhai Province.

To enter the Star Orbital from Tianhai Province, one had to pass through Airport Number One in Yu Bei City. The sky pillars that once propelled the city’s output and economy now stood continuously on Dazhu Plateau, like tombstones of the city, with bleak and desolate winds. The howling beneath the sky seemed to sing an elegy for humanity.

On either side of the tracks, zombies began to appear sporadically. As the train and cars roared by, these zombies started to give chase.

Gradually, the number of pursuing zombies increased, but it seemed that the convoy had become accustomed to such scenes; maintaining formation throughout, with no one firing shots or vehicles falling behind, demonstrating very good discipline.

Lin Xian observed the following convoy through the nuclear-powered locomotive’s onboard camera, feeling a certain sense of melancholy.

It appeared that the convoys that had survived were no ordinary groups, but what surprised him was the fact that Lao Mo, Shu Qin, and Xu Jin’s convoy still had a significant amount of Mysterious Blood Essence. He wondered if there were hidden dragons and crouching tigers within.

After all, the Abnormal Bodies he had encountered were truly...

"It seems we really need more manpower. If there were a hundred people on the train, each equipped with a Grenade Gun, wouldn’t that make for a highly powerful bombing squad?"

Thinking this, Lin Xian felt somewhat tempted. With his factory’s Superpower system, creating a heavy firepower convoy was indeed a feasible survival plan.

Just as Lin Xian was internally planning and preparing to take out his upgrade diary, the scene that came into view made his expression falter.

As the train moved into the urban area, the tracks were bordered by high walls and barbed wire. However, just outside of the barbed wire, on the roads and streets, dense crowds of heads moved, looking from afar like a swarm of black tides.

Errr Ahhh!!!!

The rumbling sound triggered the zombies’ howls.

The sight also changed the expressions of those behind, such as Shu Qin, Xu Jin, and Lao Mo, each showing a subtle shift in countenance.

A city full of Corpse Tide!

"Attention, do not fire, do not fire, follow Infinity closely, don’t fall behind!" Xu Jin reminded everyone sternly over the walkie-talkie.

Such a massive Corpse Tide, once it breaks into the tracks or scatters the convoy, except for heavy trucks, normal off-road vehicles would hardly be able to proceed without being submerged by the surging tide of zombies.

The deeper they moved into the city, the more zombies appeared on the surrounding streets, spreading out as if occupying every street.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Just as the convoy was moving forward steadily, a series of explosions suddenly erupted from the city streets in the distance, growing closer.

At the same time, continuous gunfire and the roar of engines echoed through the streets.

Lin Xian’s gaze shifted, and he saw that the mass of zombies wandering far ahead to the right of the convoy seemed to be stimulated by the noise, surging toward a certain direction.

Thus, the scene became strange, with zombies near the convoy rushing towards the railway’s barbed wire and high walls, while those in the distance headed towards the louder explosion sound.

"It seems like there’s a convoy fighting over there." Shu Qin’s voice came through the walkie-talkie.

Xu Jin spoke calmly, "Everyone, be on guard. For now, it does not affect us. Don’t break formation."

"Send out the drones."

Lin Xian said over the vehicle’s channel to KIKI, and in perfect understanding, two drones took off straight away. Alongside the train’s journey, they headed towards the distant streets.

Tat-tat-tat!!

The sounds of gunfire, various impacts, and screeching brakes grew louder, and soon the drone transmitted visuals.

"Look at that, there’s a large convoy, but they are not running away, they’re chasing another convoy!" KIKI’s tone was somewhat surprised.

Chase and kill?

What kind of hatred could be so big that they’d attack each other in an environment full of a zombie horde?

Lin Xian immediately synchronized the information on the convoy’s channel.

Hearing this, Shu Qin in the truck behind sensed something wrong and also commanded the drone they had launched earlier to ascend and get closer.

Seeing the continuous stream of vehicles at the entrance of the street, Shu Qin’s expression changed, and she picked up the walkie-talkie, shouting,

"I recognize that car, that large convoy is the Black Crow Four-man Team!"

As soon as these words were spoken, Xu Jin and Lao Mo were also taken aback, and even the whistling from Lu Xingchen in the motorhome came to an abrupt halt as he drove and turned his eyes towards the distant street.

"Weren’t they said to have only four people and four cars?" Lin Xian frowned at this time.

"I don’t know, they might have swallowed up other convoys to grow stronger. But indeed, a few of the vehicles have the Black Crow Four-man Team’s paintwork."

"What’s wrong?" Chen Sixuan asked.

"It’s the group we heard about on the radio before." Lin Xian replied.

Chen Sixuan looked worried, "We’ve come this far, aren’t they worried about other survivors’ organizations and the Phoenix Society taking action against them?"

"Yu Bei City has already fallen. I guess except for the airport area, no one would care about the rest."

Lin Xian didn’t know what those crazies were thinking, deliberately killing superpower users, could it be they wanted to enhance their superpowers this way?

"With so many of us here now, they wouldn’t dare to attack us, right?"

Lin Xian’s face turned cold, "Let’s see if they come any closer. If they dare to..."

"Then we strike first!"

Although the immediate priority was to rush to the airport, if the ones trying to wipe them out in the previous corpse tide were these people, Lin Xian wouldn’t be able to sleep at ease without settling this score.

Especially after hearing from Shu Qin that there exists a superpower capable of driving away zombies, if such a power belonged to one of their own, it would be an incredible asset. But it’s held by a group of villains, which undoubtedly makes that power an absolute calamity for them!

"Building Shasha, be on the alert. Girl, if anyone charges at the team, take them down straight away!"

"Got it, got it!" Sha Sha’s voice came through the walkie-talkie from a distant vehicle.

"Alrighty!"

Sitting cross-legged in car number 2, KIKI had a smile on her face, floating up and down occasionally, seeming to enjoy her evolved superpower.

"Captain Lin, if that group notices us, they might directly attack us."

Shu Qin pulled out a black Remington M96 from behind the seat, her face showing a deadly aura, "They are complete maniacs!"

Lin Xian watched the fog in the city thicken and his expression became stern. He spoke into the walkie-talkie,

"I know. The fog is thickening ahead, everyone maintain formation for now. I’ll keep an eye on them!"

"Looks like a fight is brewing, us old guys should lend a hand too." The bright voice of Lao Mo came through the walkie-talkie.

"Alright!" Xu Jin looked towards the distant street with a cold expression and picked up the walkie-talkie to alert all the vehicles to prepare for combat.
