Chapter 321 - 286 Endo Playing Ninja Gaiden 2 Part 2
Endo's eyes were bloodshot but wide with energy. The clock read nearly 12:00 a.m., but he wasn't backing down. His fingers, though sore, kept moving with precision. Ryu Hayabusa was deeper into enemy territory, and Endo was on a roll.
He had beaten Dando the Rage with pure timing and smart use of Fireball Jutsu. But that was just the beginning. Now each new boss pushed his build to its limit — and Endo loved it. He began experimenting with different weapons. Swapping out his twin Enken blades, he tried the Greatsword infused with Wind Path upgrades. The weapon was slower, but its sweeping reach and knockback stunned even the toughest foes. Then he tried the Halberd from the Shadow Path. Quick thrusts, a teleporting dash slash — it felt like playing a whole different game. He even found the Flame Spear, which sent burning waves in a straight line. Despite all these amazing tools, he still favored his twin Enken swords, now fully upgraded. Their strikes flared red with each slash, the flames extending the reach of every combo. It was fast, lethal, and visually spectacular — the perfect balance of style and power.
Each build demanded a shift in playstyle. Some stages favored fast, nimble attacks. Others required raw strength. He learned to read the battlefield, changing his approach mid-stage. What made it even better was how each weapon synced with different Ninjutsu builds. With Fireball Jutsu, he could push enemies back. With Shadow Clone Jutsu — also known as Kage-Bunshin — Ryu would be mirrored by shadow copies that mimicked his every movement. The battlefield turned into a chaotic blur of flashing blades. Summoning Jutsu added a new layer of strategy too. Ryu could now call forth snakes that poisoned enemies, dogs that tackled enemies, or even a fox that launched magic projectiles. His favorite, however, was summoning a massive toad that leapt into combat like a wrecking ball.
Endo's mastery over the game expanded with every boss fight. He tore through the second stage boss, Baron Spider, with electrifying speed. Stage 3's boss, Funky Dynamite, was chaotic but no match for his lightning-fast twin blade combos. Stage 4 brought Naga Sotuva — a serpent queen that spit venom and summoned smaller snakes. He beat her using Kage-Bunshin and Fireball Jutsu in tandem. Then came Stage 5 and Ashtar — dark, cruel, and armed with a blade of cursed energy. Stage 6 gave him Kebreros MK-2, a cybernetic beast with fire breath and missile barrages.
And then, the final boss, the return of Jaquio.
He reappeared, fused with a demonic entity far worse than before. His eyes glowed with hatred, and he loomed over Ryu with towering black wings and a molten aura. "Whoa, this guy is resurrected?" Endo said aloud. He remembered something from the previous game: beat Jaquio without taking any damage, and a hidden boss Embodiment of Pain would appear. "I know it... he's back. I'm gonna do it. No damage. Let's go."
It took Endo two tries. The first was a warm-up. The second he able to beat it. He danced between attacks, parried with millisecond timing, and unleashed calculated bursts of Ninjutsu. Jaquio exploded into shadows.
A new cutscene played. Zabo-man appeared, bloodied and battered, clashing against a mysterious figure with purple eyes. The figure stood atop a colossal nine-tailed fox, clad in scarlet armor, with long black hair and a massive war fan. He struck with a wind technique that shattered Zabo-man's Water Wall Ninjutsu.
The figure grinned: "Beat the demon without taking a scratch, and I'll give you your rematch."
Endo sat back, eyes wide. "He's real. I knew it. Embodiment of Pain is real in this version too. Let's go."
He took a quick break — food, water, deep breaths. When he returned, he was ready. He swapped to a new broken build he found: fully upgraded Wind Greatsword and Lightning Armor Ninjutsu, which boosted Ryu's speed to absurd levels. Endo blazed through the level, annihilated Jaquio without flinching, and then it happened.
The nine-tailed fox appeared, swallowing Jaquio whole. A new form emerged — Embodiment of Pain, ride atop the 9 tail fox head , glowing red and black, speaking directly to the player: "Ryu Hayabusa... impressive as always. But it's over. I will kill you. I have the power of the Evil Fox. I — the Embodiment of PAIN — will have my revenge!"
The fight began. Phase one — the fox launched projectile barrages, swiped with claws, and pounded the battlefield with its massive tails. Wind strikes from the Embodiment were near impossible to dodge. Endo took hit after hit but grinned. "Let's dance."
He barely scraped by. Victory in phase one came at a cost — Ryu was down to a sliver of health. Then phase two began.
Embodiment of Pain absorbed the fox and transformed into a humanoid beast, nine blazing tails whipping around him. He was twice as fast, ten times deadlier. Endo groaned. "This is just unfair."
He retried. Again. And again. Some runs lasted thirty seconds. Others a few minutes. Endo adapted. Changed his loadout. Tested new Ninjutsu. Wrote patterns on paper. His eyes burned, his back ached — but he refused to stop.
Then, after his fifteenth attempt, it happened.

Endo struck with the Wind Greatsword , staggered the boss, chained into a Lightning Jutsu : Raikiri! , then finished with a Fireball Highest Ninjutsu Attack! : Majestic Fiery Flame!. The Embodiment screeched, staggered, and exploded in a storm of red and black energy.
The screen shifted.
"No!! AGAIN!? Curse you, Ryu Hayabusa!" Embodiment screamed as he was pulled into a swirling black hole. Then a massive red fox silhouette appeared, speaking in deep 8-bit text: "Thank you, human... for freeing me. I am eternally grateful."
The screen faded to white. Credits rolled.
Endo leaned back in awe. He had done it. Cleared Ninja Gaiden II to 100%. All bosses, and hidden fights
He glanced at the clock. 4:00 a.m.
He had started playing at 11:00 a.m. — nearly seventeen hours ago.
"Damn," he muttered. "I need rest. And my ZEPS too."
He turned off the console, the screen fading to black. But his mind was still full of builds, of input commands, of slashing shadows and flaming swords. He smiled as he collapsed into bed.
Tomorrow, he'd play again , exploring a new build!
