Chapter 35 - 35

Saturday morning.

Stretching and letting out a big lazy yawn, Kitahara Sosuke sat up on his soft bed. He had woken up early to wash up and prepare breakfast. The matter of Tomoya Aki was long forgotten, pushed aside into some distant corner of his mind.

Today, Sosuke had a date with two cute girls from the neighboring high school, Miko and Hana. Who had time to think about that guy Green Also's troubles?

After some hesitation in front of his closet, he chose a casual outfit he had recently bought. Sosuke had long legs and a well-built figure. Unlike most Japanese men who needed shoulder pads, his broad shoulders gave him the look of a natural clothes hanger. A simple combination of jeans and a jacket looked effortlessly stylish on him, a look most people would need Photoshop to achieve.

He left his house earlier than planned, not wanting the two girls to wait for him. Standing near a crepe shop on the street, Sosuke scanned his surroundings, occasionally glancing at his phone for unread messages.

Just then, three high school girls walked by across the street.

"Damn it, I really want a rich and handsome boyfriend..."

The girl on the far left, dressed in denim shorts, her blonde hair dyed and her tall, dark-skinned figure catching attention, yawned loudly, venting her frustration to her companions without a care for her image.

"But Anna, didn't you just hook up with a good guy last month?" one of her friends, a beautiful girl with long black wavy hair, asked.

She was dressed in a pure white dress and light blue heels, with a black bag slung over her left shoulder, giving off an innocent, pure impression at first glance. At school, she was revered as a goddess by the boys and had a total of five "daddies" outside of school.

"That guy from medical school... he just looked good on the outside, but he was completely useless. I broke up with him last night."

The dark-skinned girl, who had a bit of a delinquent vibe, yawned and replied, rubbing her eyes where dark circles—despite heavy makeup—were still visible.

"Hey, hey, Anna, Shion, look over there!" The third girl, a cute girl with orange side-swept short pigtails and a petite frame, suddenly grabbed the others, her eyes shining.

The three of them followed her gaze.

"He's so tall, and his figure is amazing. Is that person a magazine model?" The black-haired girl also widened her eyes, looking Sosuke up and down.

"You guys wait here for a bit. I'm going to try my luck," said the dark-skinned delinquent girl, quickly crossing the road.

"Who wants to wait here? No fair running off!" The other two expressed their dissatisfaction, then followed her across the street.

Sosuke stood alone by the roadside, one hand in his pocket, looking down at his phone. He had just received a message from one of the two girls saying, "Almost there."

Before he could think more, a voice broke his focus.

"Hey, mister, are you alone? Want to hang out with the three of us?"

Sosuke glanced down at the dark-skinned girl, who was quite pretty, then answered curtly, "No."

He attempted to move away, but the blonde girl and her two companions blocked him.

"Don't be so cold. Tell us your name, and let's exchange phone numbers?"

"Yeah, give us a reaction. This is so boring~"

The three girls refused to let him go. Sosuke could feel the veins in his temples throbbing. He had encountered similar situations when he still went to the gym three months ago.

Just then, a voice called out to him, snapping him out of his unpleasant thoughts.

"Sosuke-kun..."

"Sorry to keep you waiting, Sosuke."

From a distance, he heard Miko and Hana calling his name in cheerful voices.

Miko, the beautiful high school girl with straight black hair who always seemed a bit gloomy, and Hana, the innocent and energetic girl with a generous chest size that outdid her companion, were approaching.

"Excuse me, please."

Sosuke gently pushed the tanned delinquent girl aside and walked over to greet Miko and Hana.

"Good morning, Miko, Hana," he said, flashing a somewhat forced smile.

Hana, looking confused, peeked out from behind Sosuke, glancing at the three girls who had been talking to him.

"Are those your friends?"

"No, they're strangers. Let's go." Sosuke replied lightly. Luckily, Miko and Hana weren't interested in the situation, so the three of them quickly left the area.

"So he has girlfriends, and two of them."

"A scumbag who's two-timing!"

"Tch..."

The three girls muttered some sour comments before walking off in search of new targets. To them, it was just another failed pickup attempt.

On the train, there were few passengers at this time. Sosuke, Miko, and Hana sat in a row of seats. Sosuke glanced at Miko, who was sitting beside him, staring somewhat blankly at her profile.

"How is it? Isn't Miko-chan looking very cute today?"

Hana suddenly lay down on Miko's fair and slender legs, hugging the expanse of white thigh exposed by her black short socks. Miko let out a troubled sigh, while Hana gave Sosuke a mischievous smile.

"Yeah... she's very cute," Sosuke replied with a smile, meeting their gazes.

Miko's long black hair was well-maintained, and her facial features were striking. Her temperament was unique. Though usually quiet and taciturn (possibly frightened by things others couldn't see), she had a mysterious charm.

Sosuke could also faintly detect a pleasant fragrance in the air around her. Objectively speaking, Miko was just as cute as Utaha-senpai and Eriri, if not more so.

"What's with that? Such a perfunctory attitude," Hana pouted, sitting up again and glaring at Sosuke. Her straightforward personality made her stand out, with slightly baby-faced cheeks full of collagen.

And most importantly... her chest was on a completely different level compared to Miko's slender frame.

Shaking his head, Sosuke dismissed these distracting thoughts.

"Alright, we've arrived at our stop. Our destination is the shrine."

Sosuke stood up, looking out the window at the scenery. It felt like only two days had passed, yet Miko's complexion had seemed to worsen.

He couldn't help but feel concerned, unsure of what had happened.

"I hope that old woman was telling the truth. I hope this shrine really can help her."

Sosuke looked at the navigation location on his phone, hoping this was true.
