Chapter 840: Chapter 421: Capturing the New York State Governor

“As a senatorial candidate, this treatment could cost me a lot of support. I need to make a statement to the media first, is that alright?”

Stevenson shifted his gaze away from David and turned to speak to the FBI agent.

The lead agent looked at David, and upon seeing no objection from him, he nodded, “Alright, Mr. Stevenson, you have five minutes.”

Stevenson immediately approached the media and began, “Hello everyone, I am Stevenson, candidate for Senator of New York State. Regarding this FBI subpoena investigation…”

During the next few minutes, Stevenson painted the picture that his being taken away was merely a routine inquiry, that he had not been involved in any criminal activities, and he urged his supporters not to believe any other rumors, trying to salvage his image as much as possible.

The five minutes passed quickly, and seeing the FBI agent approach, Stevenson had to halt his speech. He glared at David one last time before getting into the FBI vehicle and leaving.

In the following days, David did not ease his efforts, launching extensive tax investigations against officials of the Freemasonry camp throughout New York State.

The entire officialdom of New York State was in a state of self-preservation.

On the fourth day, in the Manhattan Branch office, David was listening to Manson’s report.

“You mean to say, now those congressional candidates have all hidden inside Governor Derick’s Mansion and dare not come out?”

“Yes, given the current situation in New York State, they feel the only sense of safety is at the Governor’s Mansion.”

“They haven’t heard about Stevenson, and the previous incident with the Governor of California, Bogwana?”

David smirked coldly.

Not to mention Stevenson, like the time in California when he dealt with the Sackler family, who had thought they could hide in Governor Bogwana’s mansion and that he wouldn’t dare touch them.

Even Governor Bogwana had called in the National Guard for protection.

What was the result?

None could escape!

And this time would not be an exception!

“Rally the troops, we’re going to meet New York State’s governor!”

Although Governor Derick was not of Jewish descent, New York, as the stronghold of the Freemasonry Group, meant that without the support of the Freemasons, not even the most powerful man could sit on this throne.

While planning the cleansing of New York, he had already marked this governor as a target that must be taken down.

Only by dealing with the Freemason-planted officials and this governor could he potentially elevate his own group’s congressmen!

The capital of New York State is Albany, and at this moment in the Governor’s Mansion on the west bank of the Hudson River, several people were discussing with gloomy faces.

“This damn David, he has taken away our New York police chief, mayor, and a host of other officials under the guise of a tax investigation, clearly trying to dismantle the base we Freemasons painstakingly built.”

“Not only is he targeting those officials, but based on the intelligence I received, he’s already gathering information on us candidates, and it probably won’t be long before he moves against us as he did with Stevenson and Langman.”

“Bastard, New York State is our Freemasons’ turf, when did it become his turn to stir up trouble here, Governor Derick, aren’t our group’s higher-ups planning to do something?”

The congressional candidates hiding fearfully were all venting their frustrations.

And sitting opposite them, a man with crossed legs looking somewhat scholarly, none other than the current Governor of New York State, Governor Derick, remained silent, deep in thought.

But just then, his confidant suddenly burst in, speaking urgently, “Not good, Governor Derick, we’ve just received word that David’s convoy has entered our Albany jurisdiction, expected to arrive here in 20 minutes.”

“What!”

Governor Derick, who had been expressionless, suddenly furrowed his brows.

“Damn, he really is coming for us!”

“Son of a bitch, what does he really want?”

“Fake Yau…”

Hearing that David was coming, the congressional candidates were both panicky and furious.

“Sir, he’s probably not coming with good intentions, should we… ”

“No need, let him come. I actually want to see what he wants to do!”

Governor Derick was aware of what had previously happened to Bogwana; even the former Governor of California had called in the National Guard, yet still failed to stop David, causing a significant media debacle.

He did not want to be the next Bogwana.

“You guys step aside for now, let me talk to him first.”

Hearing Governor Derick’s words, the candidates were both anxious and helpless but could only turn and leave the hall.

“Chief Inspector, here is the Governor’s Mansion of New York State.”

On their side, Manson, driving the vehicle, leisurely parked in the mansion’s outside parking lot.

As they got out of the vehicle, a man immediately approached them, saying, “Inspector David’s visit truly honors our Governor’s Mansion.”

“Your information is quite prompt.”

Clearly, they had known beforehand that he would be coming.

“Albany is, after all, the capital of New York State, nothing gets past our state government. Enough said, Inspector David, knowing that you were coming, our Governor has been waiting. Let me take you to him.”
