Chapter 805: Chapter 403: Foundation_2

“Hena? Which Hena are you talking about?”

The Internal Revenue Service’s Hena Quintan, Payden and Wylder both knew him.

However, they had never considered this person.

In their subconscious, it was an international joke to send someone from the IRS to take over the helm of the NSA!

“Sir, it’s Hena Quintan from the IRS!”

“What, say that again!”

Both Payden and Wylder were in a state of shock, not believing their own ears.

“Mr. President, I’m saying the person I recommend to take my place is Hena Quintan of the IRS!”

Edgar had decided to go all out and spoke loudly.

“Damn it, do you know what you’re doing, that’s a high-ranking official of the IRS, how can you recommend him for this position!”

Payden appeared to be cursing Edgar on the surface, but in reality, he knew this had to be guided by David behind the scenes, which meant his dissatisfaction was also a reflection of his disapproval of David.

“Sir… Even though Hena is a high-ranking official in the IRS, he’s the head of the IRS’s intelligence department and can fulfill my position…”

Even though it was disgusting as if he had swallowed a fly, Edgar had to endure and recommend him in order to fulfill the agreement with David.

“You…”

“That’s enough, sir!”

Before Payden could continue his outburst, Wylder interrupted him. Then, turning to Edgar and the others, he said, “You all go back and continue your work, we will notify you about subsequent matters.”

Edgar and the others did not say anything more and immediately turned to push the door and leave.

After they had left, Wylder then turned to Payden and said, “Sir, since this is David’s doing behind the scenes, we can’t afford to fall out with him now, especially since the legislation has just passed, and there’s a lot more to do…”

“Damn it, he already remotely controls the CIA, FBI, and if the NSA also falls into his hands, that would be too much power concentrated in a single person’s hands, turning us into puppets, which is unacceptable!”

“No, sir, he only controls a few departments, while we in the White House oversee countless others; calling us puppets is too far.”

“Haha, those are not ordinary departments, the IRS, FBI, CIA, NSA, they are almost the most powerful law enforcement agencies in America!”

“Yes, sir, but our immediate priority is not to fight over control of a few departments, but rather the ’24 election. We need to push out the prepared legislation as soon as possible to bring the approval ratings back up!”

On hearing this, Payden, who was still in a state of anger, calmed down quite a bit.

Controlling these powerful departments was important, but with the election not far off, the most crucial thing was to ensure victory in the next election.

Otherwise, if they were to lose the election and the presidential seat, what point would there be in discussing the control of these influential departments?

“Sir, the NSA has been controlled by members of the Illuminati for years, I think David’s actions are not for personal reasons, but rather to prevent sabotage by the Illuminati; we needn’t worry too much…”

For the rest of the time, Wylder kept trying to counsel Payden.

And Payden, having reached his current position, was certainly not someone with an impulsive mind. Thinking of the bigger picture, he ultimately had to agree with his Chief of Staff.

Over the next few days, due to the Federal Reserve hiking interest rates, midterm elections, and the implementation of laws against offshore tax evasion, the whole of America was quite abuzz.

However, on the fourth day, a news story grabbed some of the limelight from these major events.

It was none other than the news that several high-ranking officials in the NSA, led by Edgar, all announced their resignations.

But that wasn’t the main point, immediately the White House announced its nominee, and when it was seen that it was a high-ranking official from the IRS, this naturally caused quite a stir.

While the Illuminati and the Freemasonry of the Ansa Group deeply regretted the massive setback that had befallen MSA, what’s done was done, and they had no choice but to silently accept the bitter outcome, shifting their primary battleground to the midterm elections.

The Internal Revenue Service, Inspector General’s Office.

“The Senate nomination for Hena has virtually been approved; he should be able to report to NAS in as little as three days, and once he takes office, the previously decided appointments for the various departments will be swiftly put in place…”

Inside the office, David rested his chin on his hands, listening to Kepel’s report.

A few minutes later, he asked, “Has the report from NAS come out yet? What tasks have The Big Three Groups assigned to this department?”

“First, they’re responsible for monitoring the national candidates’ phone calls and emails… Second, they assist the candidates they support with publicity on major social media platforms, and third…”

As David listened to Kepel’s report, he nodded from time to time. When the brief was over, he asked, “So what do I need to do next?”

“We don’t need to worry about NAS for now. We need to turn our attention back to the election. The Federal Reserve’s interest rate hike has secured them a substantial sum of money, which the major Wall Street foundations handle, providing support to their candidates. If we could sever their ties with these foundations, they would find themselves in quite a predicament.”

“The Wall Street foundations…”

In truth, David had long been eyeing Wall Street; however, the previous assassination attempt had disrupted his plans, forcing him to introduce the tax avoidance law first, to weaken the influence of The Big Three Groups.

Now that the legislation had been successfully launched, and The Big Three Groups had significantly been hit, it was the perfect time to press the advantage and refocus on Wall Street!

As the saying goes, “Kick them while they’re down!”

Furthermore, he was quite eager to see for himself just how much “fat” there was to trim from Wall Street, which, according to legend, controlled the direction of the world economy, as far as their Internal Revenue Service was concerned.

Considering this, David said, “The Wall Street Foundation… Alright then, prepare the relevant documents and arrange the schedule; I’m heading to New York tomorrow!”

“Understood!”

The next day, David informed Obadiah Donald and a few others, and then headed to the airport with Jerela Lin Manson and his team, getting on a connecting flight bound for New York.

An hour later, the private plane landed at La Guardia Airport in New York.

After disembarking from the plane, David and his party immediately went to the Manhattan Branch. The branch had been notified in advance, so David’s arrival wasn’t much of a surprise.

After some discussion, the Manhattan Branch cleared a temporary office for him and dispatched someone to Wall Street, as per his request.

An hour later, a deputy chief of the Manhattan Branch entered the office and said, “Inspector David, the Wall Street Foundation fund manager Mo Ang that you requested is here.”

“Good, thanks for your trouble, bring him in, please.”

“It’s no big deal…”

The deputy gave a sheepish smile and then left the office.

Two minutes later, there was a knock on the office door, followed by a figure pushing it open and entering.

As the person recognized David’s face, he was momentarily stunned in place, forgetting to even take his hand off the doorknob, clearly not expecting the man who had called him to be David!

“Don’t just stand there, Mr. Mo Ang, come sit down and let’s talk!”

Heeding the prompt, Gammon collected himself slightly and then closed the door before walking over and sitting down across from David.

“Do you know why I’ve called you here today?”

A flicker of emotion crossed Mo Ang’s face, but he quickly feigned confusion and shook his head.

“I want to talk about the foundation you’re managing!”

“The foundation!”

Upon hearing this, Garcia was immediately taken aback, then promptly retorted, “Inspector David, our foundation is for charity and is exempt from tax laws!”
