Am I a Healer? You'd Better Think So!-Chapter 67: It’s Not That Simple
Chapter 67 - It's Not That Simple
Everyone was completely stunned by what they were seeing. Even though blessings were known to twist reality itself, there were some rules everyone understood clearly: the dead couldn't come back to life.
So what were they seeing in front of their eyes?
Rhea looked almost exactly like she had back in that other universe. But the feeling she gave off was something else entirely.
It was like everyone was being pulled toward her — a strange sense of calm and peace wrapped around them. None of them had ever heard of a blessing, or anything else, that could do something like that.
Their minds went straight to everything they had seen Darian do. The shock only grew heavier in their chests. What was his limit? What was his goal?
Until her painful voice echoed: "Son... forgive me..."
Leander trembled. She moved gently, with a beat of her wings, and then hugged him. Yeah, even though she wasn't entirely physical, contact was still possible. Leander could tell there was no warmth, no heartbeat — it was just a half-empty shell.
"It's okay... I really did die, but I'm still here," she whispered, softly stroking him.
It took a few minutes before Leander seemed to come back to reality. He immediately turned to Darian, who had stayed quiet in the corner the whole time.
Darian nodded. "Yeah, let's talk properly."
Everyone took a deep breath. After speaking, he sat down, all eyes on him. Rhea sighed and moved closer to him, wanting to listen too.
"Sorry, I can't share everything in detail," was the first thing Darian said seriously. "My master forbade me. She's the one who gave me my power, everything I have. Yeah, I lied when I said I tried to merge three blessings into something weird. What I use is a 'blessing' created by someone. What you saw just now is one of its abilities."
Everyone was confused. Master? Who could've created a power so unnatural it broke all the rules?
Darian nodded, and a small black rune appeared in front of him. It instantly expanded, turning into a thick black mass. In seconds, it took shape — a humanoid figure almost two meters tall.
It stood in silence, across from Rhea, beside Darian. Its intense violet eyes made everyone in the room swallow hard, shocked.
"Yeah, that's my other ally. He was once the Primitive Beast we defeated. Now, it's like he reincarnated."
Reincarnated? They all thought they misheard. He had a power only heavenly laws were supposed to have?
"He doesn't remember anything. I captured him to make him pay for his crimes," Darian went on, sounding casual.
"So yeah, that's the gist of it. I do have healer powers, but I also have other abilities. To put it simply: if certain conditions are met, I can form contracts with dead people's souls. That way, they can fight by my side."
"Wait, what? Fight? You can keep them 'alive'... and they can still grow stronger too?" Harper asked, eyes wide after hearing that. This went way beyond a normal blessing.
"Yeah... it's not easy to pull off, and I'm still working on the best way to do it. But technically, they can get as strong as a High Human. Rhea can still fight, even in this form."
He answered, thinking they'd be happy for her. But deep down, everyone's minds were just blank.
He summoned that shadow from nothing — and she could still be as strong as a High Human?
Veyle voiced what everyone was thinking: "Is there... a limit... on how many?"
"Nope. But it's not that simple. A lot of them means a lot of mouths to feed."
After answering, he pulled out another thorn — the one holding Damon's soul. Leander and Rhea got excited right away, but...
"Unfortunately, like I said, there are restrictions. Rhea is someone special, and so is the former Primitive Beast, but for opposite reasons. They're two extremes. I can only use this power on people like them. So Damon can't."
Everyone else felt a sting in their chest hearing that.
"The decision's up to you two," Darian said, looking at Rhea and Leander. "I can heal his soul and then send him off to reincarnate naturally. Keeping him sealed here doesn't feel right..."
He let out a deep sigh and added, "My master told me: people's karma is always connected. It's a bond that never breaks, even across lifetimes. One day, even if no one realizes it, he'll be close again."
Silence settled over them.
Until Rhea gave a trembling nod, then said, "This is all my fault..."
"No, mom," Leander cut her off. "I'm sure big brother acted because he wanted revenge for our father. And he would've done it again, with the same outcome, no hesitation."
She let out a heavy breath. "We totally failed, in the end... destiny is just unbelievable..."
Rhea turned to Darian, then to everyone else, and started explaining exactly what had happened. First, she looked off into the distance, remembering a nostalgic and happy past she kept deep inside her soul.
It was many years ago. Rhea met her husband in the Divine Protection Universe, during an incredibly complex battle against the Risen.
He, unlike everyone else, couldn't stand watching Spiritual Guardians and Summoners die. Even without knowing she was from Earth — human, just like him — the moment he saw her about to fall in battle, he ran to help her.
Doing something like that for no reason was foolish. Numbers didn't mean anything when faced with the raw power of a Risen. If a powerful one showed up, everyone who could run would just run. But Rhea and her Summoner didn't have that option.
He did what no one else would do, and the two of them almost died together — but somehow, they managed to escape.
That was just their first meeting, and after that, they didn't talk again. Years later, already back on Earth, during an important meeting between empires, the two of them ran into each other again.
He was part of the Solar Federation Empire, living in the region once known as the European continent.

Basically, they were competitors and couldn't have any kind of close relationship on Earth. But in the Divine Protection Universe, everything was different. There were no empires, no planets — everyone was just a Spiritual Guardian.
In the end, they kept meeting again in that other universe... and again... and again. Things just flowed the way they were meant to. But the desire to be together on Earth was stronger than anything else.
Until he found a way — the only possible way. And that sealed both their fates forever.
