Chapter 60: Jun, You Are One Of Us Now..

Ace stays at the hotel with so much uneasiness , watching the staff struggle through the day.

He wants to leave, wants to go and see how Xiao Jun is doing, but he keeps telling himself to stay a minute longer to emphasize the words he just told the staff.

He is in Jun’s office, once in a while the staff come in to ask for signatures, and he has no choice but sign.

Just when he decides to leave, a knock comes on the door, he gives permission to enter, Jun’s secretary enters, Kieran behind him.

"He wanted to see you." Lucy says, refering to Kieran.

Ace nodes, only after she leaves, he snaps.

"What are you doing here?! I think I left you with Jun who needs to be under your serious care!" He says.

"Well, I needed to know that you are fine, you need rest, Ace! Stop being stubborn." Kieran makes his way inside.

"You know what? I never actually understand you even for a second, and right now? I don’t have time and patience to deal with you right now because as you know, I have a lot to deal with. So how about you just stay on your lane and let me deal with what I have. This concerned and care behaviour... doesn’t suit you, especially not when directed to me! So cut the act!" Ace snaps.

"Am not acting, and I have no idea what you are talking about,, and if anything, instead of fighting right now, we should be together, helping each other, listening to what is important and doing it, just like you should listen that you need to rest! Unless you too want to pass out, and let me have more of concerns." Kieran retorts.

Ace ignores it, "Did he wake up?" He asks, his mind drifting to Jun, his body going numb to the memory of Jun. Not like he had forgotten about him.

"No, but he might , any time soon." Kieran says.

"Come on, let’s go back," he says, as if a plead.

Ace hesitates before he joins Kieran, talking the COO before leaving.

In the car, the drive is silent, Kieran keeps stealing glances at Ace who seems to be far a way in mind.

When Ace and Kieran finally arrive and enter the mansion, a heavy tension greets them.

The air feels thick, almost suffocating, as they step into Jun’s room.

Jun is still unconscious, but his body is far from peaceful.

His hands, now adorned with sharp claws, twitch uncontrollably.

Fangs have pushed through his parted lips, and his chest heaves as if he’s caught in a battle within himself.

Ace freezes at the sight, his heart pounding against his ribs. His stomach churns with a mix of dread and helplessness.

"Jun!" he cries out, rushing to the bedside. His hands hover over Jun, unsure where to touch, afraid he might do more harm than good.

Kieran follows, his expression tense but composed. "It’s starting," he mutters, more to himself than to Ace. "He might be waking up."

"What... what... do we do now?" Ace snaps, his voice sharp with panic. "What the hell do we do?"

Kieran leans on the other side of the bed, his eyes fixed on Jun’s sweating, trembling form. " His wolf is awakening."

Ace’s hands clench into fists. "Yes, I know that and I can see that, so what do we do now?! What do we do when he wakes up?"

Kieran shakes his head, watching as Jun’s features shift back and forth between human and wolf. "I don’t know. He’s fighting it... fighting hard."

Before Ace can respond, Jun’s body suddenly goes still.

His claws retract, and his breathing evens out. For a long, agonizing moment, there’s nothing but silence, the room still as death.

Then, without warning, Jun sits up abruptly. His glowing eyes sweep the room before dimming back to their normal color. His gaze lands on Ace, confusion and exhaustion etched into his face.

"Ace?" he croaks, his voice weak but laced with recognition.

Ace’s heart shatters and mends all at once. "Yes, Jun. You are alright, you are fine." He reaches out, gripping Jun’s arm with trembling hands.

Jun blinks, looking down at himself as though noticing the sweat-soaked sheets and his own trembling hands for the first time. "What... happened?"

Ace struggles to answer, his voice caught in his throat.

Ace watches Jun closely, his heart hammering in his chest as Jun’s eyes glow again for a moment before they return to normal, flickering with confusion.

"Ace, wha... " His voice is hoarse, barely a whisper, but it carries enough weight to nearly undo Ace entirely.

"You are fine," Ace says softly,

"What... what happened?" he asks again, his voice breaking under the strain.

Ace opens his mouth to speak again, but no words come. He glances at Kieran, who is standing stiffly nearby, his jaw tight as he avoids Jun’s questioning eyes.

"Jun..." Ace begins hesitantly, his voice thick with emotion. "You... you almost..." He trails off, swallowing hard.

Jun’s confusion deepens. "Almost what? What’s going on? Why do I feel so..." He shakes his head as if trying to clear the fog clouding his thoughts.

Kieran steps forward, his usual composed demeanor faltering slightly. "You were dying, Jun," he says bluntly, though his tone is laced with a hint of hesitation.

Jun freezes, his gaze snapping to Kieran. "Dying?" The word hangs heavily in the air.

"Yes," Ace says, forcing the word out as though it burns his tongue. "After... after Lila attacked you."

"Lila..." Jun whispers, his expression darkening with the memory. "Where is she? She... she had my dad Ace, where is she? I need to find her!" he says trying to get off the bed before kieran stops him.

"She is dead." He says simply. "She’s gone," Kieran confirms. "But before she... she almost killed you."

Jun leans back against the headboard, his face pale. "I don’t understand. If she almost killed me, then how—? Where’s my dad, if she’s dead then my dad must be free from her, isn’t he?" he says, his face lighting up.

Ace cuts in, his voice unsteady but determined. "Jun, you almost died and we couldn’t find a way to help you, we couldn’t get you to the hospital because there was no time. So... so, Kieran... Kieran bit you."

The room falls silent.

Jun stares at Ace, his confusion quickly giving way to shock. "Bit me?" His voice is barely audible, but the disbelief in it is deafening.

Ace can’t meet Jun’s gaze, his hands curling into fists at his sides. "We didn’t have a choice, Jun. You were dying, and it was the only way..."

Jun’s breathing quickens, his chest rising and falling as the weight of their words sinks in.

He looks between Ace and Kieran, trying to process what they’re saying, but nothing seems to make sense.

"I don’t..." Jun’s voice cracks, his hands trembling as he grips the edge of the blanket. "I don’t understand. Why would you... bit me? And how does that even relate to me being alive now? what does that even mean?"

"It means you’re alive," Kieran says firmly, though his voice softens. "And we’ll explain everything. But for now, you need to rest. You need rest to recover."

Jun shakes his head, his mind racing. "No, I need to know. What does this mean? Why did you bite me? What... does it mean!?"

Ace steps closer, his voice breaking as he pleads, "Jun, please. Just rest for now. We’ll tell you everything. I promise."

"No. I’m not waiting. Your faces clearly show that there’s something terribly wrong so just fvcking tell me already!" Now he is yelling. "And where’s my dad?" fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓

The room goes deadly silent. Ace’s chest tightens, the weight of the truth pressing down on him. He glances at Kieran, who gives him a subtle nod, urging him to speak.

"Jun," Ace starts, his voice faltering. He takes a deep breath then pauses.

Kieran finally steps forward, his voice calm but firm. "Jun. There are things you need to understand first_ about yourself. Trust us. This isn’t easy for any of us."

Jun’s jaw tightens as his sharp eyes dart between them, "Then tell me. What happened?"

Ace takes a step closer, his hands clenched tightly at his sides. "Kieran bit was to save you... " he says, his voice low but steady. "An alpha’s bite can turn a human into a werewolf, and because werewolves have ability to heal fast, he thought it was better to do that instead of letting you die_ so right now, Jun, you are one of us."

Jun’s breath hitches, and his eyes narrow in confusion. "One of you? One... of...?"

Ace hesitates, but there’s no way to soften the blow. "Yes... you are one of us now. You’re a werewolf now."

The words hang in the air like a thunderclap.

Jun blinks, his face twisting into shock and disbelief. For minutes he stares at them blankly, wishing to say Something but nothing comes out.

Wishing to know what to feel , but he has no idea.
