Alpha's mate is a male?!?-Chapter 110: Ace Being A Threat!
Chapter 110: Ace Being A Threat!
Ace walks Kieran to the mansion, in his room, he helps him dress up, but all this time, Kieran is really quiet, Ace can’t help but wonder what he is thinking.
"Kieran?" Ace calls in a whisper, lifting Kieran’s chin. "Don’t worry about it, we will find ways to deal with this... we always do, together." Ace says.
Suddenly, Kieran pulls him in an embrace, so tight that Ace almost can’t breath.
"I can’t afford to loose you, Ace. I cannot. I swear to you, I cannot." He finally lets out his thoughts. His voice hoarse, trembling with thick emotions.
"You are not going to loose me. We’re not going to loose each other, okay? We will never again." Ace assures him.
"Don’t let them take you away, promise me you will fight them, you won’t just let them take you away." Kieran adds.
"I promise, no one is going to be able to take me away_ away from you, I promise you that."
They embrace each other for a while before Kieran agrees to let go.
"We need to find a solution of dealing with them now, I want to deal with them now!" Kieran snaps standing up, he takes Ace’s hand and leads the way to the grand hall.
Kieran enters, side by side with Ace, everyone is settled, even the elders.
The air is thick with tension.
The scent of burned magic still lingers, a reminder of how close things had come to disaster.
As they make a way to the seat, Kieran refuses to step even an inch away from Ace, his protective instincts on full alert.
His grip on Ace’s wrist is firm but not painful_ just enough to remind himself that Ace is still here, still safe.
Marsel, standing near the long wooden table, his golden eyes dark with thought. "I don’t think their arrival was just about revenge_ Justice. It’s not." His voice cuts through the silence, drawing everyone’s attention. "They were here for more than that."
Ace, still shaken from the encounter, rubs his arms, feeling the faint warmth of his own flames beneath his skin. "Dad, you think they had another reason?" he asks, even though he already knows the answer.
Marsel nods. "Yes" His gaze sharpens, locking onto Ace. He knows it, he feels it, he can see ahead of everyone. "Maybe, or not maybe but the fact... they believe your flame is something ancient_ something dangerous. Especially to their kind, since it burnt their kind to ashes, so they are seeing you as a threat to them."
Kieran’s claws dig into his palm. He can take anything else, but not when Ace is the center of the conflict.
Witches are so unpredictable, sneaky and tricky, Kieran can say that he will not let Ace out of his sight, but how is he going to be alert with how sneaky those creatures are.
Ace smells the scent of his blood and he looks at him loosing control again, his eyes now glowing red.
That’s common only to Alphas, when the anger can’t be contained from inside, it shows even through their eyes.
Ace tenses at the sight of Kieran.
Kieran suddenly bangs the table with his fist. "We end this today! Tonight!" He growls.
Ace takes his hand, squeezing it a little bit.
"Please, stop worrying, I’ve told you, no one will be able to take me away from you. This is my promise to you. Don’t you trust me? Am here, and I’ll always be. Calm down, Kieran.. Let’s work together and come up with a reliable solution, yeah?" Ace whispers to him.
Gradually, Kieran’s eyes turns back to normal.
Later, Marsel continues. "They believe Ace’s flames are the return of the ’Devourer’s Fire’ __a force that once nearly wiped them out. To them, he isn’t just a wolf who killed three witches. He is the beginning of their end."
Elira exhales sharply, her fingers gripping the chair in front of her. Her son has always faced dangers ever since he was born, is there a day that he just be in peace.
Her eyes cross over to restless Kieran, a flicker of relief washes over her. Kieran will protect my son, she looks over to Jun too, she sees the same in him. Even in Rey.
Jun asks restlessly, "So... they’re afraid of him?"
"They don’t just fear him," Marsel answers. "They think he’s a weapon that will destroy them all." His gaze flicks to Ace, worry evident in his Marsel’s eyes as he adds, "But you don’t have to worry about anything, Ace. We are here, and we will not let anything happen to you."
Kieran, who has been silent until now, finally speaks. His voice restrained with anger. "And their solution is to take him away? For what? You know my problem is one, if they tak..." He stops, his grip on Ace tightens instinctively, his body tense like a coiled spring.
"They might want to destroy this flame... which means destroying Ace_ We do whatever it takes to be ahead of them." Marsel says swallowing hard.
"Let’s not pretend that we don’t know who we’re dealing with... they have all kinds of tricks in this world! We could be sitting here, surrounding Ace, but they will still manage to take him away! So... so..." Kieran is finding it hard to let out his words again.
"They’re desperate," Elira corrects. "And desperation makes people dangerous."
Jun exhales, rubbing the back of his neck. "Great. So, what do we do now? Because if they came once, they’ll come again."
Ace exhales sharply. "Before we think of dealing with them, I think we should think of protecting everyone from them first, if they keep manipulating us like they do, then... ugh! It’s really getting on my nerves! I can’t stand that word anymore!"
"Well, maybe we should think of protecting you too first, because who is it that they want so much now? We could protect the pack with you at the same time. And I was just thinking, _ you should leave this place, maybe you should leave to a far place and come back when this conflict ends." Kieran says firmly.
"Am not doing that!" Ace snaps.
"Ace! Do you realize the danger you are in ?!" Kieran’s emotions seem to be all over the place that he snaps at him.
"So why are you yelling at me?!"
"Because you are not listening! You don’t understand what might be awaiting for you when you stay in this place!" Kieran says, lowering his voice but Ace is already on the edge.
"So you yell at me?! I’ve told you! Am not going anywhere! I die with everyone here." He walks away but Kieran pulls him back.
Everyone feels like he needs to leave. "Ace, you don’t get it, they don’t everyone! They want you! They are dangerous. They want you, and so they won’t rest until they get you! Yes we will protect you, we will keep you under our wings, but we cannot compete with Witches dark magics and tricks! Am not yelling at you... I just... am sorry."
"I’m not going." Ace says firmly.
Kieran ruffles his hair, he feels like chaos inside his head are tearing it apart.
"So what are we going to do to protect others before this conflict goes too far?" Ace asks facing everyone else.
"You are right , Ace. If they manage to control our minds, it’s over before the fight even begins." an elder agrees.
Elira nods. "Witches don’t rely only on brute force. They slip into your thoughts, plant doubt, twist your perception. That’s how they weaken their enemies before striking."
Kieran exhales, his jaw tight. "Marsel," he calls weakly. "You ever mentioned about mind train...?"
"Yes, actually, that could work, We need to strengthen everyone’s mental defenses," Marsel says,
One of the elders, an older man named Haldir, steps forward. His silver hair glows in the torchlight. "How?"
"Witches manipulate thoughts by exploiting weaknesses_ fear, doubt, unresolved emotions. The stronger your mind, the harder it is for them to gain control. The key is discipline, focus, and a will stronger than their magic. We could have used a herb or a ritual but that doesn’t promise that it’ll will work against the witches."
Jun lets out a breath. "Sounds... exhausting."
Marsel turns to him, "Yes, it is. But it’s necessary."
"We will need meditation, focus training, and resistance exercises. Each of you must learn to recognize when your mind is being influenced and fight against it."
Ace frowns slightly. "But how do we know it’s working?" freёweɓnovel.com
Elira exchanges a glance with Marsel before answering. "Because we’re going to test you."

That same night, the pack gathers in the courtyard under the cold glow of the moon. After trying to get everyone to do it.
The air is crisp, laced with the scent of burning herbs placed in a ceremonial circle. The elders stand at the center, their presence commanding and powerful.
"We will simulate an attack," Marsel announces. "Using ancient techniques, we will create illusions meant to break you. Your task is to resist. To remind yourself of what is real." His sharp gaze moves across them. "If you can withstand this, you will have a fighting chance against the witches."
A quiet murmur runs through the pack. Some of the younger wolves shift nervously.
Ace’s and Kieran’s eyes meet but Ace looks away immediately. Kieran is still at his side , but it’s obvious that their little fight still lingers.
