After Divorce, Billionaire Ex Found Me Pregnant-Chapter 224 Special - : #10
Chapter 224: Chapter 224 Special Chapter: #10
Lloyd’s words had instantly sent Anastasia’s heart into an overdrive. Without even needing to focus on it, she could feel her heart beating hard against her chest, shaken up by his words, his proximity and the look in her eyes.
And it scared her.
Not Lloyd, but rather the familial pounding of her heart and the fluttering in her stomach, because she knew it all too well and it was a feeling she feared.
It was the same feelings that had caused her unfortunate relationship with Derek.
Those memories flashed within her mind and before Anastasia knew it, she had paled.
Lloyd didn’t fail to notice this and in seconds, his expression changed into concern. But before he could say anything, she had broken free from his hold and stood up, walking towards her door and holding it open.
“Get out.” She demanded.
Lloyd was surprised by the sudden shift in her attitude. Just a few seconds ago, she seemed pissed at him, now the look in her eyes made it seem like she was trying to be on guard against him.
Had he been too forward? He pondered.
“Anastasia-“
Seeing that he was still trying to speak and growing irritating agitated at his presence, moreover, the effect of his presence, Anastasia snapped.
“I said get the fuck out, Riley!”
Her voice was harsh but Lloyd could see as her eyes shook slightly, revealing a quick peak of vulnerability.
He sighed, deciding to adhere to what she wanted. “Alright. But I’m not leaving you alone, Anastasia.”
Without a single word more, he exited her office, leaving Anastasia alone. Once the door closed, she leaned back against the wall, taking deep breaths as she glanced at her hands to notice how the subtly trembled.
"Why the fuck is it happening again?" She whispered, trying her very best to ignore the thoughts in her head and the feelings in her chest.
But the more she tried, the more she remembered and realized things she didn’t want to.
Feeling she didn’t want to acknowledge.
Not wanting to think anymore, she buried her face into her shaking palms, hoping that it would block everything out, but instead, her mind began replaying her last relationship and her now brewing feeling for Lloyd and the fear it brought.
"Fuck you, Derek." She cursed underneath her breath.

"...sir?" Kareem who had been watching his boss since he came back, was skeptical to speak. He could tell that his boss was in a bad mood, thus he hesitated with his next words. "Ms. Johansson just sent back the case materials and a letter of termination."
The news couldn’t have soured Lloyd’s mood any further. He frowned.
Why was the universe so against him? Why was it so hard to fall in love?
Why was Anastasia pushing him away so much?
"Sir?" Kareem called, only to get ignored by his boss who was stuck in his thoughts. "Sir?" He pressed on.
Lloyd sighed. "Shut the fuck up, Kareem." He spat and for a moment, a glare was present in his eyes until it vanished after he realized that none of this was Kareem’s fault.
It was all his fault. From the very beginning till now.
Sighing, Lloyd got up and went over to his desk, retrieving his coat and car keys.
"Where are you going sir?"
"I’m going home. Tell the workers they can go too."
Kareem was hesitant. "Should I get another lawyer to work on the case."
"No. Kill the entire thing and pay Lynks their compensation." Lloyd half heartedly said as he walked out of the door. "After all, they’re useless to me now."
Now, he just had to find another way to get to Anastasia, because she sure as hell wasn’t letting him anywhere near her.

A whole week had passed since their meeting in her office and it was the last day Anastasia could hold her ground against her emotions and thoughts.
All throughout the week, her mind was filled with thoughts about Lloyd and the possibility that he would show up at her office any moment. fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm
And when she slept, her mind was plagued by his voice and his face, sometimes even the touch of his hand.
“Why is this happening again?” She would whisper as she currently sat in Megan’s bakery, munching on a piece of cake that she believed would have helped cheer up her mood.
“Who knows. Maybe your mind has finally come to accept the fact that you can’t deny him anymore.” Megan suggested as she slipped into the chair in front of her, dropping a mug of coffee in front of her.
Currently, the bakery was free, thus giving the oldest friend enough time to chat and mock her friend’s rather funny love life.
Anastasia’s brow creased at this.
“Deny what? I never had any intention to get involved with him in the first place.”
“Sure you didn’t.” Megan chuckled, taking a sip of her coffee. “But you know what they say about falling for your enemy.”
Anastasia rolled her eyes. “Stop spouting nonsense and stop reading those damn books.” Groaning, she shifted the cake aside and slammed her head down on the table.
“Alright. Here, drink some coffee.” Megan offered.
“Coffee isn’t helping.” Anastasia felt like flipping a table at the thought of drinking the one thing she had constantly tried to keep herself away. “Don’t you have something stronger?”
Megan blinked in surprise. “Annie, are you really suggesting we drink at seven in the evening?”
“Yes. I am.” Anastasia raised her head and fixed her friend with a judgmental stare. “Is something wrong with that?”
“Alright then.” Megan stood up. “Let me get the bottles and glasses. You can go take a seat upstairs.”
“Good.” Anastasia followed suit and watched her friend go to the kitchen before heading upstairs to her living room.
She took her usual seat on the sofa, sinking in.
“I really have to do something about this damn thoughts.” She muttered to herself as her mind recalled her encounter with him, his touch, and his gaze.
She groaned.
“The Whiskey train has arrived!” Megan announced as she walked up the stairs, two glass and a bottle of whiskey in her hand.
Anastasia was thankful to see the drink and was quick to chug an entire glass down when Megan poured their shares.
“Wow, you have no intention of going easy today.” Megan teased.
Anastasia ignored her and chugged another glass.
“So,” Megan started as she set her glass down. “What exactly is going on between you and Lloyd.”
“Nothing.” Anastasia answered almost too quickly, before downing another glass.
Megan’s brows furrowed. “If nothing is going on, then why are you so worked up over it?”
“I’m not. I’m working up because I’m getting stressed over my cases.” Anastasia lied.
Megan was quiet for a few moments.
“Are you really lying to yourself right now Annie?” She asked, causing Anastasia to glance her way.
“There’s a different between lying and not acknowledging something. If you don’t know the difference, then drop it.” Her tone held finality and Megan pressed her lips into a thin line, not saying anything further, but she thought.
How silly both her friends were. The first one nearly ruined her life because of love and here the second one was, drinking herself into oblivion to avoid the feelings she didn’t want to acknowledge.
She had to fix this, just like the same way she fixed Leonica’s fucked up romantic shit.
Sighing, she got up. “I gotta make a call.” Was all she said as she walked away.
Anastasia wasn’t sure what her friend meant and she didn’t bother to think about it, instead, she continued to drink.
She wasn’t sure how long Megan had stayed away or the numbers of glasses she had drank, but the next time someone walked into the living room, she was sure that person wasn’t Megan.
“How long are you going to continue drinking, Anastasia?” Lloyd’s voice reached her ears, but Anastasia couldn’t even muster the strength to look at him, let alone talk.
She heard him sigh and the next thing she knew, his hand was on hers, snatching the glass away and setting it down on the table.
“You’ve had enough.” He said. “Let me take you home.”
Anastasia wanted to protest, but at that moment, the alcohol in her system had her wondering what would happen if Lloyd took her home.
If they were in the same room, alone, what would he do?
