Adventures Of The Ero Bunny-Chapter 55: A Challenge
Chapter 55 - A Challenge
Again I found myself at the end of a fight, the weapon in my hands responsible for the death of some living being because of my actions; another few goblins were dead now, and there was little that I felt about it at all.
I was quickly becoming adjusted to this world and its requirements to survive, and the way I had managed to stop myself from ejecting everything from my stomach was to start looking at the monsters as bundles of experience.
Yes, I didn't have the system or other kind of cheat that could boost my strength with some kind of external 'currency' that came from killing things, but the mental process was something that was rather useful.
I wasn't 'dehumanizing' these monsters, nor was I putting myself into some fucked up mentality that would cause trouble down the road, but it was helping me process everything I was doing right this moment.
And what that was was caving in the skulls of these green skinned, fanged goblins that were positively aching to sink those needlelike fangs into whatever and whoever they could, despite those ears of theirs being worth a little bit of money.
"Good job again. You learn quick enough, and I can only imagine what a proper teacher and some time to learn everything at your own pace could do for you. Sadly that kind of specialized tutoring would need to be sometime later..."
Patting my back again, Heidi gave me a smirk before gathering up the various goodies everyone had mined out of the various boulders strewn about, slinging the heavy pack over her shoulder like it was nothing.
"That other party is gone now too, so you can roam around if you want. I just want to move some of these around for organization. Just be careful and don't be stupid."
With that she gave me a pat on the ass next, her smirk widening as she added "And when you get bored of killing stupid goblins you can come back and help me empty my balls.", the blonde sending me on my way with one hell of a promise.
Trying to ignore the way she made me feel, I turned around and walked away, hammer resting on my shoulder and my head on a swivel now as I began to search for a new target; there was definitely a surplus of various monsters around now that the other party was gone, and as such I was allowed to roam around freely to hunt.

Goblins were in the vast majority of what I had found, but they weren't the ideal monsters for me to hunt right now simply because they were what I considered to be rather weak and extremely simple to kill.
There were various things that I wanted to try, different spells and techniques alongside wanting to also practice my movement and dodging abilities against something that didn't just swing blindly and hope to hit.
Goblins were just... stupid and simple creatures that didn't really require a whole lot of anything at all to kill, let alone warrant use of magic in any of its wonderful and magnificent capabilities; spells that were offensive in nature just demolished them, while supportive spells just turned my hammer into overkill.
I didn't want to just kill these goblins and be done with it; I wanted to learn how to wield my weapon more effectively, how to fight better, how to evade attacks and utilize magic in more than just an offensive, simplistic sense.
There was so much that I needed to learn, but there wasn't much learning to be had if there were only goblins to fight; they didn't employ tactics, weren't strong, had crude equipment and were simply a pain to fight, honestly.
The satisfaction to be gained from fighting them was as non existent as the 'experience' that I was gaining, so I began to look around for a proper challenge... all while I reluctantly acknowledged that they were still monsters I was going to need to fight.
A simple swing of my hammer almost always resulted in something dying, and the gore that I had to deal with was becoming more and more thanks to the weapon I had chosen to main; a heavy metal block being swung around with a whole lot of force was going to be extremely messy whenever it killed something.
A dozen of those little green bastards fell relatively quickly, and amongst my monster killing frenzy I found a few intriguing monsters that helped me broaden my horizons a little; there were the slimes, of course, which I used to test some of my magic on, and then there were a few spartoi that lingered around.
Skeletons that stumbled about with rusty gear, rippling with mana threads that made them lurch into action far faster than any of the goblins had; they had a speed to them that weren't obvious, and the first one I fought almost skewered me with its chipped blade.
Some of them were skeletons of typical mortals - standing around six feet tall and with healthy enough bones - but a few of them were fascinating thanks to them being the skeletons of some more dangerous races.
Prime of which was an Orc, who had thick bones wreathed in potent mana, allowing it to tank quite a lot of damage - a hammer swing barely shattered its forearm - while also being capable of dealing a lot of damage with its own heavy, flanged mace.
Sometimes it blocked my attacks with its kite shield, but most of the time the spartoi just opted to sway away from the attack and react to me whenever I missed; it became a 'fun' dance that we shared as we tried to kill one another, and I found myself enjoying it more and more the longer it went on.
Nothing lasted forever though, and soon its arm shattered, followed quickly by its shin, toppling down onto the ground and allowing me to crack its skull into hundreds of pieces, ending our battle and filling me with a sense of accomplishment that made it easy to return to the goblins for a little while longer.
