Sienna examined Dane as he made his way inside. There was a ruffian air around him, completely different than what he used to portray before her. He had shed his gentlemanly face and behaved as who he actually was- wicked, manipulative, and selfish.

"Sienna," Dane started, only to stop when she warned him silently. If he continued to cross his limits, he wouldn’t be sitting intact in a few minutes.

Dane ran his gaze around and looked at the four guards. The woman alone looked like she could break his bones easily, let alone the men who looked like they could kill him with a punch.

Gulping nervously, he hid his frustration and corrected himself. "Miss Lawrence."

Sienna nodded, her gaze less cold.

"Mr. Ledger, you said my Dad has left a will?"

Dane nodded, feeling intimidated by her penetrating stare. It made him feel as if she could read him accurately and discover all his secrets, which were darker than the night sky.

"Why did none of us know about it?" Sienna asked, giving him a look that said he was under her scrutiny. So, he had better think before speaking.

"Miss Lawrence, I don’t exactly know why none of you knew about it. I wasn’t there when the will was being drafted and notarized."

"How did the will end up in your hands?" Sienna didn’t believe a word he said. The man was scheming, and everything he did was for his gain.

"After Dad passed away, Mr. Lawrence entrusted the will to me."

Sienna tapped her fingers against her elbow. No one could decipher what was running through her mind. Her face was impassive, making her all the more glacial.

Dane fidgeted in his spot when he met her indifferent eyes. When they were dating each other, although she had maintained a distance, she wasn’t this detached. Now, he felt he was looking at a stranger.

"Fine. Let’s begin."

Sienna gestured for him to start, and Dane opened his bag and took a document.

"May I start, Miss Lawrence?" Dane asked her permission before opening the document, and once he received her nod, he started.

"I, Warren Lawrence, of sound mind and body, do hereby declare this to be my Last Will. I make this declaration freely and without duress, fully aware of the consequences of my actions."

Dane looked up for a moment and saw Sienna staring at him. Swallowing a gulp, he resumed reading the will.

"I hereby appoint my close friend, Owen Ledger, as the executor of this will. Should he be unable or unwilling to serve, I appoint Dane Ledger to act as the substitute executor."

Again, Dane glanced at Sienna, but the woman remained unreadable, so he gripped the document tightly. Next, he read more of the will’s contents, which weren’t very important.

Finally, he reached the important part and took a deep breath before continuing.

"I make the following bequests, which are to be executed without delay or dispute:

1. To my wife, Cynthia Lawrence, I leave the Lawrence Estate, situated at Presidio Heights. This home is to remain in the family for as long as it is deemed suitable for the living members to inhabit. Should the family decide to sell, the proceeds will be divided equally between my wife and children.

2. To my butler, Frank Alvarez, who has served me with unwavering loyalty, I leave the villa at Sea Cliff. Additionally, Frank shall receive a sum of $10,000,000, which I trust will be used wisely."

Frank was shocked to hear what Warren had left for him. He had never expected the man to include him in the will.

Villa at Sea Cliff? That costs millions.

He was overwhelmed with emotions and wiped his tears, missing the man and everyone else. How he wished he could turn back time and prevent the mishap from happening.

"All my other assets, including my shares in the Lawrence Group, are to be divided equally between my wife, Cynthia Lawrence, and my children, Edward Lawrence, Leah Lawrence, and Sienna Lawrence."

Dane took a breath as he read the next part silently. His eyes widened in disbelief. But he returned to himself quickly, masking his emotions brilliantly.

However, his momentary change in expression didn’t go unnoticed by Sienna, and she realized that what she’d be hearing next was the main part.

"Should tragedy befall my family, and only one of my children remains at the time this will is read, then I direct that all of my assets, properties, and possessions be passed solely to them, as the last bearer of my name and legacy. However, he/she must be married or should marry within two weeks of the reading of the will. If they cannot or will not, then the entirety of my assets will go to the Lawrence Family Foundation."

The living room was shrouded in silence. Nobody spoke a word as they gawked at Dane, who looked equally stupefied.

Sienna’s expression cracked, and she blinked a few times, wondering if this was all a joke. Why did her father put such a strange clause in the will? Married? Why?

Kyrell clenched his fists tightly as he stared at the woman sitting before him with an unfathomable gaze. A myriad of emotions were swirling in his eyes, sadness and disbelief being the most prominent.

"What the fuck!" Xavier cursed under his breath. ’How did things turn out this way? Why did Miss Lawrence’s father put such a strange clause?’ His gaze drifted to his friend, who seemed to be holding himself back.

Is this the end for Kyrell then? Can they never get together? Do they not have a chance?

Not just him, even Isaac and Amy were downcast, and their eyes kept switching between Sienna and Kyrell.

’My God! Is this what Dad meant when he said there is something beneficial to me in the will?’ Dane thought. ’Did Mr. Lawrence actually include this clause in the will, or did Dad do something?’

Dane’s thoughts kept wandering towards the possibility, and he broke into a cold sweat. If his Dad added the clause himself without consulting Sienna’s father, then... He even feared to think about the consequences.

"This concludes the Last Will of Warren Lawrence, signed, sealed, and witnessed on the 12th day of April, in the year 2024. Let it be executed in full accordance with the law."

Raising his head to meet Sienna’s eyes, he said, "This will was signed in our presence, and we, knowing the weight of what it contains, have signed it as witnesses.

1. Owen Ledger, Attorney and Executor

2. Brendon Curtis, Friend and Advisor"
