Accidentally Yours, Mr. Stranger-Chapter 64: Where in the will? - Part 2
Chapter 64: Where in the will? - Part 2
"Sienna, do you not want to speak to me even if I were to tell you that I have your father’s will?" Dane asked, his tone laced with wickedness.
Sienna was sitting on her chair lazily, utterly unbothered by the scumbag.
He must be calling to apologize. What a menace!
But as soon as she heard Dane mention a will, she sprang to her feet as if her butt was on fire. Her reaction was so extreme that it startled everyone, and they stopped eating.
"What did you just say?" Sienna was incredulous. ’Did he say Dad has written a will? It’s absolutely impossible. It can’t happen. No way.’
"You heard me right, Sienna. I have your Dad’s will. Don’t you want to find out what’s in it?"
"You’re bluffing. Why would Dad write a will? He wouldn’t, and even if he did, he would have told us."
"Well, I have the will. My Dad handled the process. I don’t know about the rest."
Sienna frowned, finding his words absurd. Why would her father sign a will in the first place? And that too without informing them? Something didn’t add up, and she glanced at Agnes.
Understanding what Sienna wanted to convey, Agnes stepped aside and called Frank immediately.
"So, where do you want to meet me?" Dane continued, staring at the unopened document before him with a smirk.
"Lawrence Estate. 3 p.m."
"Fine, then. Lawrence Estate, it is. See you soon, Sienna."
Sienna pressed her forehead and gritted her teeth. Placing her phone on the dining table, she held her waist, unable to believe what she had just heard.
"Miss Lawrence, are you alright?" Kyrell asked worriedly. He saw how baffled she looked, and he more or less understood her sentiments.
Since Sienna hadn’t shied away from answering the call before them, not just him, his entire team and Agnes had heard her speak of a will her father had left.
Why would Sienna’s father leave a will when he was fit and healthy? Moreover, he was far from relinquishing his position. There wasn’t any need for him to create a will this soon.
"Mr. Winchester, can you speak to Officer Jenkins? I need the Lawrence Estate by 2 p.m. I can’t let Dane know I moved to another place."
"Of course."
Kyrell glanced at his friends, who looked equally stunned as he stepped out to make a call.
Sienna completely lost her appetite and picked up her phone. She moved to the living room and called Simon immediately, who was yet to reach the company.
Just like her, none of the others were in the mood to eat, and they made themselves scarce, allowing her the space she needed.
"Hello, Miss Lawrence," Simon answered on the third ring.
"Mr. Brown, did Dad ever mention a will?" Sienna didn’t dawdle and jumped to the main topic once the call connected.
"Will? I don’t remember anything of that sort, Miss Lawrence." Simon frowned, trying to recall anything about a will. But he had no memories of it.
"What about Grandpa? Did he say anything to you?"
Her grandfather had retired long ago and left everything to her father and the three siblings. Although Simon and the old man didn’t interact much, she still didn’t forget to enquire about it.
"No, Miss Lawrence. He didn’t mention anything of that sort."
"What about Travis?"
"No, Miss. None of the Lawrence family members mentioned anything about a will to me."
Simon couldn’t comprehend why Sienna was asking about a will. But he could more or less infer what might be happening and what got her all agitated.
"I see. Thank you, Mr. Brown. I’ll talk to you later."
Sienna then called Edward and Esme one after the other and enquired the same. However, just like Simon, they too had no idea about a will.
"Miss," Agnes came running inside and handed her phone to Sienna. "It’s Frank."
"Frank."
Now Frank was the only person who could give her answers.
’Please, please, please, know something,’ she prayed as she held her breath.
"Miss, I don’t know what will Mr. Ledger is speaking about. Sir never mentioned one before."
"I see. I sense something fishy in this matter. Why will Dad leave a will without informing anyone? And why do only Dane and his father know about it?"
"Miss, was it Mr. Ledger who informed you about the will?" Frank was shocked. He had been watching over his son when his wife called him and spoke about a will. For a moment, he even wondered if his ears were ringing from not having slept well the previous night.
"Yes." Sienna sighed, finding everything ridiculous. Now, where did this will pop up from?
"Miss, could there be a ploy? Is Mr. Ledger trying to deceive you?" Frank was suspicious. It had to be. There was no other possibility.
"He could be." Sienna didn’t rule out any possibilities, even though her mind had already decided that there was something odd about the situation. "I’m meeting him at the Lawrence Estate at 3. Join me."
"Yes, Miss. I will be there."
Sienna ran a hand through her hair and tugged at the roots. She was frustrated to the core. novelbuddy.cσ๓
When would all of this end? Give me a break, will you?
"It’s done, Miss Lawrence." Kyrell entered the living room after speaking to Luther. "You can return to the estate after 12. It’s been cleaned now."
"Thanks." Sienna nodded and paced back and forth anxiously.
Taking a deep breath, she gritted her teeth. Her mind was chaotic, and the more she thought about it, the more twisted it became.
"Let’s go. I’ll be back in a minute."
"Miss Lawrence?" Kyrell looked at her in concern.
"I can’t stay here. I’m losing my mind. Let’s go to the office."
"But..."
"I need to focus on something else. Otherwise, I’ll go crazy. Wait for me."
Kyrell watched her run upstairs and return with her belongings and a few documents a few minutes later.
"Agnes, take care," she said, and the woman nodded back as Sienna made her way out with Kyrell right behind her.
