Abyss Descension: I Perform Rituals to Evolve In The Apocalyps-Chapter 5: Final Preparation
Chapter 5: Final Preparation
"With what I've learned, it's time to tackle the ongoing disaster head-on," Kev thought, not daring to grieve the dissapeareance of his loved ones for long.
He wasn't in a situation to stay stagnant or wallow in self-pity.
After all, the disaster that made people disappear from Earth could strike the same place twice.
In other words, he could vanish at any moment. He had to act now and act fast to secure his future.
Before the World Flipper comes for him. Before he gets pulled into the alien space, he wanted to be adequately equipped with weapons and essentials such as antibiotics, a medical kit, long-lasting food, water, and more.
He returned home to grab his car keys. Then, he stepped out of the house, got into his car, inserted the key into the ignition, and twisted it.
BRRRMMM
The engine roared to life, and he drove toward the nearest military base.
Along the way, he witnessed an unsettling sight.
Nearly every road he passed on his way to his destination was littered with empty cars or the aftermath of accidents.
Some roads were so clogged with wrecked and overturned vehicles that he had no choice but to take a detour.
It wasn't hard to guess what had transpired.
People must have suddenly vanished while driving, leading to the countless sites of devastation he had witnessed.
The bloodstains at the wreckage sites proved that many had been injured or killed in the crashes.
A point to note was that there wasn't a single corpse in sight.
Kev concluded that even corpses weren't safe from the Vanishing.
The military base was empty with not a single guard in sight.
It was easy to guess that the soldiers of this particular base had been caught up in the recent waves of disappearances, vanishing without a trace.
"This is going to be easy."
Kev stepped out of the car and made his way into the military base.
He looted it thoroughly, equipping himself with all kinds of offensive and defensive gear, along with essential auxiliary items.
Then, he returned to his car.

Before he could get inside, the low rumble of an approaching vehicle reached his ears.
Kev turned his head toward the source of the sound, spotting a Hummer in the distance.
It was speeding down the road. He could vaguely discern a person behind the wheel.
He wasn't the only one left in the city!
The hummer rumbled to a stop beside him.
The door swung open, and out stepped a sultry beauty with tan skin, a voluptuous figure, and a beautiful face.
She wore a white crop top that stretched taut over the perfect swell of her twin mountain peaks. Her midriff was left bare. Her waist cinched in just enough to create a flawless contrast with the tempting curve of her hips. She had the perfect hourglass figure, and her belly was smooth and toned, with a delicate dip at its center.
Below, she wore a pair of shorts that clung to her hips, leaving her smooth, tanned thighs fully exposed. Twin belts sat loosely around her waist, more for style than function, and sturdy black boots completed her look.
A gun was strapped to her side, and a massive bag rested across her back.
"Are you the only soldier left in this base?" She mistook him for a soldier because of the way he was dressed.
His equipment included a rifle, multiple handguns, several fully loaded magazines, grenades, combat knives, military-grade defensive gear, flashlight to see in the dark, a parachute, and a backpack filled with essential items.
"You are mistaken. I am not a soldier. I came here believing in someone's theory about the Vanishing and armed myself thoroughly because of it," Kev clarified.
"Is that someone named CrimsonSheWolf?" she asked.
Kev raised his eyebrow. "How did you... Wait, did you also come here after reading CrimsonSheWolf's post on the rundown forum?"
She shook her head. "I don't read the posts I make."
His eyes narrowed slightly. "You're CrimsonSheWolf?"
She gave a small nod.
Kev found her admirable. She possessed the trifecta. Beauty, brains, and big jiggly... well, you know what.
She glanced at him with a faint smile. "It's impressive how well you've followed my advice."
"I'm just desperate to survive," Kev replied flatly. "There's no time to waste, so you'll have to excuse me. If fate allows, we'll meet again."
He hadn't gotten everything he wanted from the military base. He wanted to hit a supermarket next.
"I hope it does," CrimsonSheWolf really meant it. Considering her theory was correct, teaming up with someone like him would significantly increase her survival rate in the alien space, as he was armed to the teeth.
They went their separate ways.
A few minutes later, a car was speeding down the road. There was no one inside. The car belonged to Kev.
He had become one of the unfortunate soul to vanish from earth!
The same could be said for CrimsonSheWolf. She, too, had dissaperead from earth.
